Creating Your Account

Getting started with Clankr is quick and easy. Visit the registration page and provide your email address, choose a username, and create a secure password. You will receive a verification email to confirm your account. Once verified, you can immediately start using all of Clankr's features including AI chat, social sharing, and direct messaging.

We recommend choosing a memorable username as it will be your identity on the platform. You can customize your profile with a bio, profile picture, and other details at any time after registration.

Your First Conversation

After logging in, you will see the main chat interface. Simply type your message in the input area at the bottom and press Enter or click Send. The AI will respond based on your selected mode (Direct, Deep, or Ultimate). You can switch between modes at any time using the mode selector above the chat input.

Try starting with a simple question or greeting to get familiar with the interface. The AI is designed to be conversational and helpful, so feel free to ask follow-up questions, request clarification, or change topics as naturally as you would in a human conversation.

Setting Up Your Profile

Your profile is your identity on Clankr. To customize it, navigate to your profile settings where you can add a bio that tells others about yourself, upload a profile picture, set your display name, and configure your privacy preferences. A complete profile helps other users connect with you and builds trust within the community.

Understanding Chat Modes

Clankr offers three distinct AI chat modes, each optimized for different use cases:

• Direct Mode: Fast responses for everyday questions. Use this for quick lookups, simple calculations, casual conversation, and when you need an answer quickly without extensive detail.
• Deep Mode: Comprehensive responses with detailed analysis. Choose this for research tasks, complex questions, when you need multiple perspectives, or when you want thorough explanations with context.
• Ultimate Mode: Maximum quality reasoning for demanding tasks. Select this for creative writing, advanced problem-solving, professional content generation, and any task requiring the highest quality output.

You can switch between modes at any time during a conversation. The AI maintains context across mode switches, so you can start with a quick question in Direct mode and then switch to Deep mode for a more thorough exploration of the same topic.

Tips for Better Conversations

To get the best results from Clankr's AI, consider these tips:

• Be specific: The more details you provide in your question, the more relevant and helpful the response will be. Instead of "tell me about dogs," try "what are the best dog breeds for apartment living?"
• Provide context: If your question relates to a specific situation, share relevant background information. The AI cannot read your mind, so context helps it understand your needs.
• Ask follow-ups: Do not hesitate to ask follow-up questions if the initial response does not fully address your needs. The AI remembers the conversation context and can refine its answers.
• Use the right mode: Match the mode to your task. Quick questions deserve Direct mode; research tasks benefit from Deep mode; creative and complex work shines in Ultimate mode.
• Iterate and refine: If the first response is not quite right, provide feedback or rephrase your request. The AI learns from context within the conversation to improve subsequent responses.

Conversation History

Clankr saves your conversation history so you can return to previous chats at any time. You can find past conversations in your history panel, search through them, and continue where you left off. If you prefer not to keep certain conversations, you can delete individual messages or entire conversation threads from your history.

Creating Posts

Share your best conversations, insights, and AI-generated content with the Clankr community by creating posts. You can compose a post from scratch or share directly from a conversation. Posts can include text, images, and formatted content. Add relevant hashtags to help others discover your content and engage with your ideas.

Following and Feeds

Follow other users to see their posts and stories in your feed. Your feed is personalized based on who you follow and your interaction history. You can discover new users through trending content, hashtag feeds, and the explore section. Build your network by engaging with content that interests you.

Stories

Stories are ephemeral posts that disappear after 24 hours. They are perfect for sharing quick updates, polls, questions, and casual content without the permanence of regular posts. Create stories from the story composer accessible from your feed or profile page.

Direct Messages

Send private messages to other Clankr users. Navigate to a user's profile and select the message option, or access your message inbox from the navigation. DMs support text, shared AI content, and media. All direct messages are private between participants and are not used for AI training.

Creating a Conference

Conferences are collaborative AI-assisted rooms where multiple users can chat together with shared AI context. To create a conference, navigate to the Conference section and create a new room. You can set the room name, description, and configure access permissions (public, private, or invite-only).

Joining and Participating

Join existing conferences through invitations, direct links, or by browsing public rooms. Once inside, you can send messages that all participants see, interact with the shared AI, and collaborate in real-time. The AI maintains a shared context so all participants benefit from the collective conversation history.

Conference Best Practices

• Set clear topics or agendas to keep discussions focused
• Use the AI as a shared research tool by directing questions collaboratively
• Take advantage of persistent rooms for ongoing projects or study groups
• Configure permissions appropriately — use private rooms for sensitive discussions

Updating Your Profile

Access your profile settings to update your display name, username, bio, profile picture, and other personal information. Changes take effect immediately across the platform. Remember that your username is unique and may not be available if another user has claimed it.

Security Settings

Keep your account secure by using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). With 2FA enabled, you will need both your password and a verification code from your authenticator app to sign in. You can manage your security settings from the account preferences page.

Privacy Controls

Clankr gives you control over your privacy. Configure who can see your profile, send you messages, and view your posts. You can also manage your data by downloading a copy of your information or requesting account deletion. Visit the privacy section in your account settings to configure these options.

Deleting Your Account

If you wish to delete your account, you can do so from your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile, posts, messages, and conversation history. We retain a brief backup period of 30 days during which you can recover your account by contacting support, after which all data is permanently deleted.

AI Not Responding

If the AI does not respond or seems slow, try the following steps: (1) Check your internet connection. (2) Refresh the page. (3) Try switching to a different chat mode. (4) Clear your browser cache and cookies. (5) If the issue persists, our servers may be experiencing high demand — wait a few minutes and try again.

Cannot Log In

If you are having trouble logging in: (1) Verify your email address and password are correct. (2) Check if Caps Lock is enabled. (3) Try resetting your password using the "Forgot Password" link. (4) If you have 2FA enabled, ensure your authenticator app is synced correctly. (5) Clear browser cookies for our site and try again.

Messages Not Sending

If your messages are not sending: (1) Check your internet connection. (2) Ensure you have not been rate-limited by sending too many messages too quickly. (3) Verify that your account is in good standing. (4) Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in.

Content Not Loading

If content appears blank or fails to load: (1) Check your internet connection. (2) Disable browser extensions that might interfere (ad blockers, script blockers). (3) Try accessing the site in an incognito/private browsing window. (4) Clear your browser cache. (5) Try a different browser.

Is Clankr free to use?

Yes, Clankr offers a free tier that includes access to all core features including AI chat in Direct mode, social features, direct messaging, and conferences. Premium tiers with enhanced AI capabilities, higher usage limits, and additional features are available through paid subscriptions.

Is my data safe on Clankr?

We take data security seriously. All communications are encrypted in transit using TLS, and sensitive data is encrypted at rest. We implement strict access controls, regular security audits, and follow industry best practices for data protection. Read our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Are my conversations used to train AI?

We may use anonymized and aggregated data to improve our services, but we implement strict safeguards to prevent identification of individual users. Private messages and conversations in private conferences are never used for training. You can opt out of data usage for improvement purposes in your privacy settings.

Can I use Clankr on mobile?

Clankr is fully responsive and works on all modern mobile browsers. You can also install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for a native-like experience on your phone or tablet. Simply visit clankr.chat in your mobile browser and follow the prompt to add it to your home screen.

How do I report inappropriate content?

If you encounter content that violates our community guidelines, use the report button available on all posts, messages, and profiles. You can also email our trust and safety team at abuse@clankr.chat with details of the violation. We review all reports promptly and take appropriate action.

What AI models does Clankr use?

Clankr integrates with multiple state-of-the-art language models to provide the best possible experience. We continuously evaluate and update our model selection to ensure quality, safety, and performance. Different chat modes may use different models optimized for their specific use cases.
